Scott Kramer
With a classical background in recording and training in film sound from the USC film school, Scott began his career handling all aspects of sound for shorts and festival films. He was able to enter the Motion Picture Editors Guild immediately, and worked as a Mix Technician on a variety of major studio film and TV projects.
Scott later accepted a part-time position at Todd-AO Studios West in Santa Monica. He was fortunate to work with some of the most talented film sound professionals in the world, and worked in a variety of capacities at the company. While getting a broad exposure to one of LA's leading sound companies, Scott continued to do freelance sound editing and mixing on independent projects. He later spent a year at Todd-AO working full-time on projects for HBO and Showtime.
Scott left the corporate world in 2006 to work independently. Since that time he's supervised sound for seven feature films in addition to numerous smaller projects. Through his experience in the major studio realm, Scott is well-versed in the intricacies of creating that unique "hyper-real" sound found in so many Hollywood films. His first love is for independent and art-house cinema, where experimental creative design or spare naturalistic sound is more often found. Whatever the project calls for, Scott draws on a rich skill-set to achieve exceptional results.
